Ok... Here's the first part of Judgement Day, the continuation of Field of
Dreams. This part begins right after Data's phaser firing. This will explain
a few things and confuse you more. I love doing that.... :*) Anyway... here
you go!
Christopher Walck
Judgement Day part I
Chapter I
Data's arm twisted and the phaser blast flew towards Q. Q, of course,
was not hurt by it. He reflected the beam back to where it came from. Data
dropped the phaser as he was hurled into the main viewscreen. His head
fell off as the phaser power coursed through his circuts. He fell to the
ground and laid there unmoving.
Riker and Picard ran foward to see if Data was all right. Geordi wasn't
far behind with a tricorder. As Will and Jean-Luc looked on, LaForge ran a
quick check of Data's systems. He knew that it wasn't good and Q confirmed it.
"I don't think you'll be able to revive him. He's dead. You know, that
was rather stupid of him. Oh well." Q said with a really annoying voice.
Picard walked up and stood in Q's face. Anger filled his face. "Q! You
have gone too far! Bring him back. NOW!" Picard yelled at Q.
"Oh. Don't give me that. Now on to your punishment."
Now Riker joined Picard. "Punishment? You mean that we're to be
punished?"
"Yeah, and don't try to weasel your way out of it."
Picard hadn't calmed down. "You killed Data..."
"No, Captain. Data killed himself."
"You reflected the beam back! Which means you killed Data!" Picard
replied.
"Forget it. Now on to punishment."
Picard replied, "I'm not going to go along with you Q."
Q smiled. "Really? Then I'll have to kill all of you for resisting an
all powerful entity."
Picard took a deep breath. He looked around the bridge. He saw
LaFroge hovering over Data, Crusher and Troi looking perplexed and Riker about
ready to punch Q out, if he got the chance.
"All right. But first, we want to know the charges."
"I knew you'll see it my way. I'll be back in a while with the charges."
With that Q disappeared and left the crew in a state of shock.
* * *
The remaining bridge crew walked into the conference lounge. Data's seat
was empty. As Picard walked to his seat, he wondered what else would he lose
in space.
"I'm sorry to do this to you, but I need your opinons of what Q has done
and is doing." Picard said, "Riker?"
Riker took a deep breath. "I had the strangest feeling when I saw
Amanda. I couldn't believe how she had changed. She seemed... evil." THen he
retold what had happened to him. The rest of the crew was silent. No one said
anything.
Next it was Crusher's turn. "I had the strangest experience. I was in a
dungeon, then on the Enterprise seeing my daughter. It was the strangest
thing. It was amazing. Everything was so real." Troi looked at her with her
sypathetic eyes. She knew that she would busy over the next few weeks.
And so it went. Each person said what had happened. Picard's account was
the most frightning of them all. When he talked about the Borg, it was as
though the room turned ice cold. Deanna knew that she would be spending a lot
of time with Picard. When she thought that he gotten over the Borg, Q brings
it back into the open.
Q appeared at the end of the table. His costume was a judge's robe.
"Well. Now that we know who did what, it is time for the trial." With that
Picard diasppeared in a flash oflight.
* * *
Both of them reappeared in a court room. Q sat in the judge's chair,
while Picard sat in the defendants chair. Next to him sat Captain Louvois. In
the prosecutor's chair sat Worf.
Worf? Picard thought. What is he doing here. And for that matter, why am
I here?
Q hit his gavel on the bench. "Prosecutor Worf, are you ready to tell the
defendant the charges?"
Worf stood up. "I am your honor. Prisoner Picard, you are charged of
being a Fascist and destroying the human race as a Borg. How do you plead?"
Picard began to say something, but Louvois said something first. "Guilty
as charged."
Picard stared at her. "WHAT? I'm not guilty!"
Q smiled. "Nice try Picard."
Picard disappeared. One by one the rest of the crew received their
sentances. All guilty as charged.
* * *
After everyone was back on the Enterprise, Q appeared. "Now," he said,
"I have decided to forgo your execution... on one condition... you go on a
little mission for me."
Picard wasn't happy at all with Q. "Q, you are a pain in the..." he
said.
"Tut, tut tut. No cursing a god. Now, I'll tell you the purpose of the
mission. Find me the five Crystals of Power and bring them to me."
"Why can't you just snap your fingers and get them yourself?" Crusher
asked.
"Because, I want you to do it..." Q replied and he began to be
threatning. Of course, only one person has to go after each crystal. I'm
sorry to split you up, I'm going to have to so you don't get any bright ideas."
"Q, you don't trust us?" Riker asked. "What a pity."
"Will, you are getting on my nerves." With that Q snapped his fingers and
the Enterprise's command crew disappeared.
Chapter II
Picard reappeared in the entrance of a cave. Outside, there was a rather
cold wind blowing. Inside, the tunnle was lit by torchs that hung on the wall
on both sides of the cave. Picard was rather mad about what Q was doing to
them. But if he didn't go along, the entire ship would die, for real this
time.
Picard slowly walked into the cave. He picked one of the torches off the
wall and proceeded deeper in the cave. AS he walked, he noticed that it was
rather cool and there was moss growing on the walls. The footing was rather
good as Picard progressed.
Movement ahead in the tunnel caught Picard's eye. "Who is there?" Picard
asked. A figure began to move closer to Picard. She was holding a torch and
looked rather dirty. "Jean-Luc?" The voice said sweetly. Picard looked in
amazement. Vash... But what was she doing here? he thought.
Vash ran to Picard and she hugged him. Picard knew that Q wouldn't keep to
his promise. "What are you doing here?" Picard asked as he hugged her. "Why
don't you ask Q? He is a pain, you know that? All I know is that you're
supposed to be on the Enterprise and I'm looking for some sort of crystal."
Picard looked suprised. "Vash, I'm the one looking for the crystal of
power. Q... Well it's a long story." And Picard proceeded to tell her
everything. Vash was rather quiet as he explained everything. At the end,
silence gripped the cavern. "I going to kill Q!" she said. "I don't think
you can do it. We've tried to kill him before." Picard replied. They began to
laugh.
"Shall we go?" Picard asked. "Let's shall." Vaash replied. Arm in arm,
they walked into the depths of the cave, unknowing what is ahead.

Riker appeared on the beach. As he looked around, he noticed that he was
the only thing on the beach. The sun was slowly setting in the water. When he
was young, Will always wondered what happened to the sun when it set. As he
thought about it, a chuckle rose from his throat.
Will began to walk down the length of the beach. As he walked, Riker began
to wonder what Q was up to. These crystals of power that Q made them go after
really left him in the dark. He didn't know what they were, except that Q
wants them.
He came upon a small object. Not a crystal, he thought. More like a
weapon. It was rather rusty, and it was small. It had a rather dull blade and
the shape of a dagger. As Riker looked at it, the sand behind him began to
rise. A hole had appeared. As Riker turned, he fell feet first into the hole.
He fell and Riker thought, Wonderful! Fallen down a bottomless pit. What else
could go wrong.
Abruptly, Riker hit bottom. He fell on a cushion of sand, which broke his
fall. He felt rather sore which was to be expected. Riker turned his head and
he noticed a figure. Riker immediately had the dagger out, ready for anything.
The figure said, "You won't be needing that, son."
The voice scared Will. No! he thought. What was his father doing here?
"Yes, son. It is me. Your father." The figure stepped into the light.
Thomas Riker appeared and Will's fears were true.
Immediately, Will was running over to his dad. "Dad. What are you doing
here?" he asked. "I'd like to know. I was in the middle of a meeting and
suddenly someone said, 'I need you.' And next thing I knew I was here. Son
what the hell is going on?"
"Dad, it's a long, long story." Will and his dad sat down and talked about
what had transpired over the past few weeks.

Dr. Crusher was immedately aware of her surrondings. Delos Four. She never
thought that she would have come to that planet again. Actually, she promised
herself that she wouldn't go there again. She had too many fond memories of
the place before the incident.
As Beverly began to walk, she could smell the fragent smells and the sounds
of the birds and animals in the forest. She finally seemed content with
herself. After what had gone on over the past few days, she needed to get
away from it all.
She loved springtime. She noticed a figure approach. Strangely, the face
was kept in the darkness. Dr. Crusher knew that Q had sent her here to find
what he called Crystals of Power and which she really didn't care about at all.
The figure was definitely masculine in nature.
A voice spoke, "Beverly?" Beverly was immediately staring at the figure.
No. It can't be. she thought. Jack Crusher walked into the light. Beverly
almost fainted. "Jack?" she whispered. She couldn't believe what she was
seeing. Her husband was dead. She saw his body. Then how?
Crusher ran into her husband arms and hugged him tightly. Tears streamed
down her cheeks. She hadn't seen him in a long time and she didn't want to
lose him again. "Um... dear?" Jack asked, "Where am I? And where's Wesley?"
Beverly smiled at him. "It's a long story, Jack. A long, long story."

Deanna rappeared on Betazed. The last time she was here, it was bright and
sunny. Today it was cold and raining. As she walked she noticed that the air
had a rather pungent smell. The air smelt like something was burning. Deanna
ran towards the area where the smell was coming from. As she came out of the
forest, she was shocked at what she saw.
The capital city was in ruins. Buildings were burning and collapsing every
few seconds. What happened here? Deanna thought to herself. Then she
remembered, Mother! She slowly made her way to the house where her mother
lived and where she had lived while she was younger.
Strangely, as Troi caught sight of her home, it was still standing. It was
the only one for miles around. There is something here that is more than meets
the eye, Deanna thought. She walked up to the front door and opened it. The
door creaked. Nothing out of the ordinary there, Troi thought.
As she walked into the house, she heard someone crying. She called,
"Mother?" Suddenly a voice called from the dark, "Get out! Don't stay here,
Deanna!" Deanna turned to try to get out the door, but the door slammed shut.
When she tried to open it, it was stuck. Damn! Deanna thought.
Lwaxana Troi walked out into the entranceway. "I'm so sorry! Why didn't you
listen to me..." She broke down and started crying. Deanna held her and led
her to a chair nearby. "What happened?" Deanna said. Mrs. Troi was silent.
Then she began to talk.

Geordi LaForge appeared... in the Engineering section on the Enterprise?
What in the world was going on, he thought. Q couldn't be playing a trick on
him, could he? As Geordi looked around, nothing seemed to be out of the
ordinary. Several peopel walked by him and some of them scowled at him.
Thenn he noticed the uniform his was wearing. Oh no! he thought. He was
wearing the same skimpy uniform that he wore in his mission on the Imperial
starship Enterprise. he wasn't very happy about that.
The warp core had grown since the last time he saw it. There was so much
power coming out of that system. Suddenly a voice came over the intercom.
"LaForge? We are ready to implement the inversion device." Oh my god!
They're invaiding our universe again. He took a breath and said, "Aye, sir.
Implementing now!" trying to be the nastiest person he could be. The lights
dimmed and came back. They were in his own universe which was ripe for the
picking.
Chapter III
"Captain's Personal Log. Stardate: Unknown. I have had a strange
experience. Q has ordered the command crew to recover what he calls Crystals
of Power. I have been joined by Vash, who is an old acquaintance of me. We
continue to go deeper into the cave."
As Vash and Jean-Luc walked, they began talking about what had happened
since they had left over two years ago. Vash told him about the places she had
gone and what she had seen. Picard told her about how he missed her and what
happened in the years that she wasn't there with him.
Vash tripped and fell to cave floor. "Damn!" she said. Picard was
immedately next to her helping her up offf the ground. When Picard looked at
where Vash tripped, he noticed a ring of some sort. He picked it up and there
was a key attached to it.
Vash looked at the key and said, "I can't believe I tripped over a dumb
keyring with one rusty key on it. Must have been here for years."
Picard nodded. "Are you ok? Can we continue?" he asked with concern
in his voice.
Vash replied angrily, "Yeah, I'm ready but this is getting on my
nerves."
THey walked a little bit further and a cavern opened up before them.
There were three doors. Above them, a sign was placed. Written on it was the
words: One key, three doors. Choose the wrong one and die...

Lwaxana and Deanna sat in their house after both of them recounted what
had happened to them. Deanna was especially shaken up as Lwaxana told of an
apparently Starfleet vessel destroying the planet Betazed. At least it wasn't
the Borg, she thought.
Deanna stood up and walked in a circle. "So," she said, "Q has set me
up to find a crystal in which..." Suddenly she stopped. She thought she had
heard something coming from upstairs. "Mom? Did you hear something?" she
asked.
Lwaxana listened. "Yes, but I can't tell what's making it. It's
coming from the upstairs."
They slowly walked into the hallway where the stairs were. They slowly
began to climb. Creaks and groans greated them as they went up the stairs.
Deanna reached the top first. She helped her mother climb the rest of the
stairs. Lwaxana had become weak over the last few days because of what
happened to her.
As they turned the corner, Deanna and Lwaxana both noticed a light
coming from behind a door at the end of the hall. They slowly made their way
down to the door. Troi was especially careful because she knew this was
something that Q had cooked up and she knew that her mother was here for a
purpose.
Slowly, Deanna opened the door and a blast of energy swept out of the
room. It hit Lwaxana off her feet and slammed her in the wall hard. Deanna
heard something snap for Lwaxanna's back. Deanna watched as the light dragged
her mother along the wall until she was in front of the stairs.
THen she was dropped, right through the crumbly stairs. Lwaxanna hit
them and fell straight down. Troi ran after her, but it was too late.
Lwaxanna Troi had been killed by Q. Deanna was infuriated. Then she sank down
near the stairs and began to cry.

The Enterprise glided through space. Geordi spent his time trying to
figure out where Q's Crystal of Power was. The only fluctuation that he found
in the ship's energy was in an obscure area of Engineering. But he couldn't
check it out because the ship picked up something on sensors.
"Captain to LaForge. Fleet approaching. You better be ready."
Picard's voice came over the intercom.
Will he never change, Geordi thought. Geordi walked into Main
Engineering and it was a scene of confusion. Everyone was running around
getting everything ready. Geordi thought, just like last time.
The shields went up adn geordi had a chance to check how many ships
were approaching. He stared at the number... 35 starships... almost as many as
the Federation had fought against the Borg. My God! I'll be killed... he
thought.
Phaser blasts rocked the ship as the fleet opened fire. The captain
ordered for full attack. Geordi was ratherr curious about the reading in
Engineering which he caught before. But he didn't get to think about it much
after what happened next.
The flagship of the fleet opened fire with antimatter weapons. Of
course, the Imperials had thought about that. Geordi was ordered to fire the
secret weapon against the fleet. The shields on most of the fleets ships
crumbled as the anti-shield weapon hit them. Then the Enterprise began to pick
the starships apart one by one.

Riker and his dad walked into the tunnels that were under ground.
Along the way, Will began to wonder why Q had brought him and his father here.
Maybe because he knew there was a rift between them and he was beening nice?
Nah... Q isn't nice. Riker thought.
His father, after Will told what was going on, was beginning to realize
why he had been brought here, wherever here was. But he shouldn't tell Will
because he'll deny that's why they were brought together. They countinued to
walk.
Suddenly, a rather large and disgusting blob began to move towards
them. "Dad, stay behind me. I'll fend this thing off." Riker walked forward
holding his dagger in front of him. The blob began to take shape and it turned
into something that Riker recognized. "Armus..." he whispered.
Armus... the thing that killed Tasha Yar out of pure joy. The thing
that almost killed himself and the rest of the away team on that desolate
planet he was trapped on. Riker started to turn back towards his father but a
voice said, "No!"
His father looked on in shock. Riker flung himself at Armus and the
blob just did nothing. It was as though Riker was venting his frustration on
the blob. Riker continued to flail into the blob. Slowly but surely, the blob
was obliterated and only small pieces were left laying around in the tunnel.
His father ran to Riker's side. "Will, you all right?" he asked.
Will was completely out of breath. He was also rather tired from all the
exertion. Will sat down while his father looked at the remains of whatever
that was.
"Will... what was that?" he asked. His son looked at him and began to
laugh. "I wanted to do that for a long, long time..."
"Well, you did a pretty good job of it, son."
After Riker had caught his breath. they continued. As they went, they
both noticed that the temperature had begun to drop. Riker's father seemed to
be rather withdrawn after the attack and destruction by Armus. He seemed as
though he was in another world, thinking about times past and times to come.
They turned a corner and came upon what had caused the temperature to
drop. It was a cavern of complete ice. The ice was pure and clear and father
and son had to cross it.
Chapter IV
In her house, Deanna continued to cry. Q was getting on her nerves.
But she wondered, what were those crystals for? Q is an all powerful being.
Why didn't he get the crystals instead of sending the crew to get them. This
was what puzzled her.
After she calmed down, she got up and walked over to the room where the
light had been coming from. She walked in, wondering if whatever had hit her
nother would kill her. Nothing happened. When she was inside, the door
slammed shut and she was locked inside.
Q appeared before her. "Well... Made it this far??? The crystal is in
this room, my dear. You just have to find it."
Deanna rushed towards Q ready to kill him but Q disappeared before she
got to him. DAMN! she thought in her mind. But then she looked around the
room. It would take her some time to find what she was looking for. She began
to search.
After abotu five minutes, Deanna came upon a small crystal ball which
she didn't notice before. She stood up, looked at the crystal laying in the
drawer, and then picked it up.
Almost immediately, Deanna felt her soul being sucked out from her
body. It was a trap. Q had set the trap to lure Deanna and the crew to hold
the crystals. For it, they would lose their souls. Q was the devil, and this
confirmed it, but Deanna couldn't think any more, because her body was left
behind as her soul became trapped in the crystal.
The crystal reappeared in the hands of Q. "One down, four to go..."

Jack and Beverly walked through the forest. They talked about what had
happened during the years that Beverly hadn't seen her late husband. Beverly
seemed to be very happy. She didn't realize that her husband was dead and Q
had brought a fascimile of him to life.
After a few minutes, they stopped. "Jack?" Beverly asked. "Do you get
the sense that we're being followed?"
Jack looked around. "No. It's only us. Don't worry about it."
They continued walking. Beverly still had the suspicion that someone
was following them. Her head turned around and she saw nothing. SHe must have
been imagining things again.
They began talking again. Suddenly, something jumped out of the bushes
ahead. It was a man, rather tall and handsome with an evil looking knife in
his hand. Oh no! Not again, Beverly thought.
The man rushed the couple. Beverly fell back under the weight of the
man. "Now feel the wrath of Greyfox," the man hissed. The knife raised and
was going to plunge right through her heart.
Jack had been knocked out of the way by Greyfox. He saw what was about
to happen and leapt and knocked Greyfox off his wife. Jack and the man rolled
aorund on the ground, strugguling for the knife. Beverly saw a hand holding
the knife come up and swiftly struck the victim.
Beverly screamed as Greyfox pushed Jack out of the way and disappeared
into the trees. Jack had been stabbed in the heart and Beverly didn't stand a
chance of saving him. "Beverly..." he coughed, "I love you..." His voice faded
away.
Tears came to Beverly's eyes. She had lost her husband again.

Geordi had repaired all the damage that was sustained by the Enterprise
from the attack. As Geordi was repairing things, he came across another
energy surge. But he couldn't do anything about because the Borg was about to
show up.
"Captain to Engineering. Ships approaching."
Geordi checked his sensors. The Borg... and 10 Romulan ships? What
the hell? Geordi thought.
Suddenly blasts rocked the ship. Geordi knew from the time he had
spent on the other Enterprise that the shields would hold for a few minutes
before the Borg would break through. He had to think of a way to find the
crystal before the Borg come.
The Borg lashed out with their laser beam and cut the Enterprise
nacelles clearly away. Smoke immediately poured into Main Engineering. Geordi
coughed and hacked his way over to where the main engine monitor panel was
placed. It told him that the Enterprise had lost all power to their shields
and weapons.
As Geordi turned away, he noticed something glittering on the ground.
As he walked over, he realized that this was the crystal that Q had made him
look for. Geordi snatched it up into his hands. The crystal glowed and Geordi
felt his esscence leaving his body.
AFter the transfer was compelte, the crystal reappeard in Q's hands.
"Well, well, well... Two down three to go."

Picard and Vash looked at the doors that they had to choose from. One
was gold, one was silver and one was bronze. The key that they had wasn't one
that was to be noticed. It was a plain copper key. The key had a number on it
which was 1N-19.
"Jean-Luc? Which one do we take?" Vash asked. She was now afraid
that they would both die in this cave and that they wouldn't see daylight
again. Vash looked at the doors and wondered.
"I don't know. Maybe this number has something to do with it. 1N-19.
It may mean that don't take the first one or the third one."
"How did you come to that conclusion?" Vash asked. "All I see is 3
numbers, a letter and a dash."
"Yes, but think. I this is Q, he would make it possible to solve the
puzzle. The 'N' means never. So don't take the first or the ninth door. But
if you count nine doors, you'll always end up on the bronze door. So we don't
take the gold or the bronze door. We take the silver."
Vash looked at Picard. "But what if you're wrong?" she asked.
"Then Q hasn't have anybody to get his precious crystal for him."
Picard replied.
Picard went up to the door and placed the key in. The key fit
perfectly. Picard slowly turned the key. As he opened the door, something
flung out of the door. Picard was thrown to the ground as he saw a tiger leap
at Vash.
Vash went down after only a few seconds. The tiger was ripping her
apart. Picard tried to help her but he wasn't going to be there fast enough.
Vash sceamed for a few moments and then was silent. She was dead.
The tiger looked at Picard. It growled then ran into the door again.
The door shut and this time it locked. He wouldn't be able to find the
crystal that way.
The sign changed to read: "Tsk... Tsk... Tsk... Two doors left..."
Picard was going to kill Q...
To Be Continued...
